A 3/2 valve for a solenoid refers to a valve with three ports and two positions, it works as follows:

1. Ports:

3 ports are typically labeled as:

• Port 1: Pressure supply port.
• Port 2: Output port.
• Port 3: Exhaust or return port.

2. Positions:

The valve can be in one of two states:

• Position 1: Solenoid energized (activated), allowing flow between certain ports (for example, from 1 to 2, and 3 to exhaust).
• Position 2: Solenoid de-energized (inactive), switching the flow to connect different ports (for example, from 1 to 3, and 2 to exhaust).

Basic Function:
